Bio

As a session musician and live performer, Josh does it all and is the ultimate utility man.

He’s played electric and acoustic guitar, bass, drums and percussion for all kinds of groups. From Rock to Jazz, and from Country to Pop, he can play it all.

And he’s done it both in the studio and on stage. Starting out in New York, he’s played to sellout crowds at historic venues such as The Bottom Line, as well as the birthplace of punk, CBGB’s.

Josh’s eclectic musical tastes can be heard throughout his playing. His influences range from the rockabilly and roots sounds of Sun Studio to the stripped-down styles of Garage and Blues as well as 1950’s/60’s era Jazz. On guitar (his primary instrument), his style has been described as “Django Reinhardt meets Keith Richards.”

Born and raised in New York, Josh has also lived in Seattle and Hawaii and now calls Portland his home.

Credits Include

RADIO – Produced, played instruments and sequenced tracks for a variety of radio commercials in the New York City market.

ALAN ANDREWS (Americana) – Played guitars, bass and drums on two critically acclaimed CD’s by Andrews. Both received praise and extensive airplay from acclaimed N.Y.C. DJ’s Vin Scelsa and Meg Griffin.

RICK DANKO (Roots Rock) – Played guitar onstage with this legendary member of The Band.

MO GOLDNER and OLIVE DRAB (Rock) – Produced Goldner’s “Wash Me” CD and played all the instruments on it.

APRIL KLINE (Country) – Joined her C&W band (on guitar) for a two-month engagement in Europe.

KELLEY DEAL (Alt/Indie rock) – Played lead guitar onstage with Deal of The Breeders.

SUSAN SANDBERG (Alt Pop) – Backed Sandberg on bass during her performances at the CMJ Festival.

MOSHAV BAND (Rock) – Played drums for the Israeli group during some their tour of the U.S. and Canada.

TIM ROBINSON (Folk) – Played acoustic and electric guitars, plus percussion on Robinson’s self-titled CD.

THE PROBLEMS (Roots Rock) – Played guitar with this Williamsburg, Brooklyn based group.

VARIOUS – Played guitar & drums in a variety of bands from weddings to the Top-40/club circuit in the greater New York City area, Hawaii and abroad.
